Volcaland La Geria
If you find yourself on one of our amazing Lanzarote Buggy tours then you will be stopping off at this little gem along the way, Volcaland in La Geira is a fantastic little Bodega where we stop off for around 15-20 minutes on our 3 hour tour. Is a great chance to have a refreshing drink or a quick bit to eat, there is time to pop into the souvenir shop and even do a bit of wine tasting,,, so as the guys say "Drivers you can taste the wine, but passengers you can fill your boots"!
We love this stop, La Geria is a spectacular place surrounded by Volcanos and vineyards and we highly recommend going back to the area under your own steam when you have the time. There is so much to see and in this reign of Lanzarote, one not to miss is Timanfaya National Park situated at the heart of this area it is a spectacle all on it own. The last eruption there was recorded in 1824 so we dont need to worry about these sleeping giants anymore, but the eruptions of 1730-1736 however destroyed whole villages and created the Martian like Lanzarote landscape we see today.
If you do get the chance to go back to Volaland we would recommend going with an empty stomach, ok not the normal advice one would give to people planning an afternoon wine tasting I will admit, however Volcanland has an outstanding buffet offering typical Canarian dishes, the buffet opens at 12:30-15:30 and it really is great value for money at only 10€ for adults and 6€ for kids, soaking up all that Lanzarote wine will not be a problem here.
